Software developer - Back End

ImageShack uses REST across a large mega-cluster of datacenters, which contain sub-clusters of Linux servers. We are seeking individuals who will be responsible for the design, development and release of ImageShack's core applications, including file system management, caching, database application interfaces, and media delivery acceleration.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Develop ImageShack's core architecture.

Must have:

  • a strong system architecture background.
  • a thorough understanding of TCP/IP as well as back end application server development.
  • a B.S. in Computer Science (or greater, or equivalent) experience.
  • 5+ years of web software development experience.
  • substantial expertise in popular web development languages, such as PHP and Python.
  • an understanding of advanced programming database principles (SQL.)
  • a comfortable knowledge of asynchronous network programming, distributed systems, fault tolerance, and scalability.

Software developer - Front End

Do you want to help ImageShack build next-generation web-driven applications? As a Front End software developer, you will specialize in building responsive and elegant web UIs with technologies such as AJAX and server-side PHP.

Must have:

  • expert HTML, JavaScript and CSS skills with a strong interest in look and feel.
  • significant development experience with PHP and other front end framework languages.
  • experience designing modular, object-oriented JavaScript.
  • experience with other UI frameworks such as XUL, Dojo, YUI, and XAML.
  • a B.S. in Computer Science (or greater or equivalent).
  • a proven track record of launching interactive web sites/applications.
  • developed optimized and cross-platform front-end code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
  • a portfolio, which includes a self-started web-based project.
